Unique features
The Future Of The Music Industry
While it’s crucial for our graduates to understand traditional industry elements like radio, print, press, physical and live, Ostereo Education gives learners a rounded understanding of today’s industry. This means an emphasis placed on streaming, data, social media promotion and other ever-developing trends and disciplines that power today’s music industry.
Release Music
The programme will allow learners to experience an end-to-end release process and actually take the reins of a real-time campaign. This will mean hands-on involvement in the commercial release and promotion of a piece of music.
Careers Focused
Ostereo’s Music Business programme places great importance on employability and careers, ensuring its graduates are able to develop their soft and power skills in a safe and constructive environment. Every student will be given access to a guaranteed work placement, frequent meetings with an industry mentor, as well as networking opportunities and modules focused on employability.
Study in Manchester
It goes without saying that Greater Manchester has one of the most diverse and culturally significant music and creative scenes in the UK. From the Mad-Chester scene to the Brit-pop stalwarts arising from the rainy county, Greater Manchester’s music scene’s impact is boundless. It is still home to iconic venues like Gorilla, the Deaf Institute, Albert Hall and the Ritz, as well as Manchester Arena and the Academies, which consistently attract the biggest names in music and entertainment.
Authentic Assessment
Providing students with unique insights into the working world in a more vocational setting is something which Ostereo Education sees as extremely valuable. As such, various means of more “authentic” assessment have been built into the programme. By “authentic” Ostereo means that students will have the opportunity to be assessed on tasks that would typically be carried out by a professional executive working in the music industry.
Industry Led, Academically Backed
Ostereo has worked with a range of qualified academics to develop its programme, under the guidance of Plymouth Marjon, an established UK university. However, ensuring the curriculum is industry-led (and frequently reviewed) means it is brimming with the latest developments surrounding platforms like TikTok, Facebook and relatively nascent concepts such as Blockchain.
